Elizabeth Stetar is an experienced Social Worker with over a decade of service in the social services sector, including work with the Ministry of Children and Family Development in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Throughout her career, she remained deeply committed to supporting families, enhancing parenting capacities, and contributing to improved outcomes for children, families, and the broader community.

Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care and a Social Services Diploma from Vancouver Island University. Her professional journey is grounded in a strong commitment to client-centered practice and building collaborative relationships with both individuals and community organizations.

Elizabeth’s professional development is robust and ongoing. She has completed specialized training in Mediation and Conflict Resolution through the Justice Institute of British Columbia, further strengthening her skills in positive conflict resolution. Her additional training includes Conflict Coaching, Motivational Interviewing, Domestic Violence and Safety Planning, Problematic Substance Misuse, and Indigenous Cultural Safety—ensuring she stays current with best practices in family support and protection.

Beyond her professional life, Elizabeth is an active member of the Nanaimo Sport and Scent Club, where she enjoys training and learning with her German Shepherd. She also participates in Jazzercise, a community-based dance fitness program, and practices and teaches ballroom dancing in her spare time.

With a deep-rooted commitment to fostering healthy relationships and resolving conflict constructively, Elizabeth brings a compassionate, strengths-based approach to her work with individuals and families across the lifespan. Her training in mediation and conflict resolution supports her in working not only with children and youth, but also with adult family members navigating complex dynamics. Whether supporting parents, extended family, or caregivers, Elizabeth remains dedicated to creating safe, respectful spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and long-term positive outcomes.
