MEET CHAOWEN
Chaowen is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), offering over 10 years of experience providing individual counselling, couples counselling, and family counselling. She works with children, youth, adults, and families, supporting clients through emotional, relational, and life-transition challenges.
Chaowen uses an integrative, evidence-based, and trauma-informed approach to counselling. She has specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Self-Compassion, complex trauma counselling, and PREPARE/ENRICH couples counselling. Her therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Educated in China, the United States, and France, Chaowen began her professional career in Human Resources at IBM, where she developed a strong foundation in communication, emotional well-being, and personal growth. She later earned a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016.
Chaowen provides counselling for
anxiety, low mood, relationship issues, life transitions, and career change. She helps individuals and couples develop emotional awareness, manage difficult thoughts and the inner critic, and build confidence and resilience to move forward with clarity and purpose.
In addition to her clinical work, Chaowen is an experienced corporate trainer and facilitator, delivering training in mindfulness self-compassion, emotional intelligence, and workplace communication for organizations including Microsoft, Amazon, and Twill Health. She offers counselling and training in English and Mandarin, supporting a diverse client community.
Outside of her counselling work, Chaowen enjoys spending time in nature and learning from people’s stories. Her curiosity about human experience and personal growth continues to inform her work as a trauma-informed counsellor and lifelong learner.
Fees: $160 - $250 per session
