MEET CHAOWEN

Chaowen, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC, brings over 10 years of expertise supporting children, youth, adults, and families on their therapeutic journeys. With specialized training in therapeutic modalities like Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Self-compassion, Complex Trauma, and Prepare/Enrich couple counseling, she offers diverse and effective interventions.

Educated in China, United States and France, Chaowen initiated her career in Human Resources at IBM, where she enjoyed assisting individuals in reaching their optimal selves. Driven by a profound desire to empower others further, she continued her studies at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Master's Degree in Developmental Psychology in 2016.

Chaowen enjoys supporting her clients on challenges such as relationship issues, anxiety and low moods, life transitions and career change. In her warm and empathetic space, she ensures clients feel deeply understood and valued. Skilled in guiding individuals and couples to recognize and navigate their emotions and thoughts, she adeptly assists clients in reconciling with their inner critical voice, fostering an environment where they can build the confidence and strength necessary to pursue their desired paths in life.

In addition to her professional role as a counselor, she’s also a trainer for topics such as mindfulness self-compassion, communication at workplace and emotional intelligence for Microsoft, Amazon, and Twill Health. Chaowen offers therapy and training in both English and Mandarin.

In her leisure time, Chaowen finds inspiration in nature and engaging with people's stories, fascinated by the journeys that have led them to where they are today.
