Rita Rodriguez Bellizia is a Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in process with a strong academic background in psychology and neuroscience. She brings a warm, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming lens to her work with children, teens, and adults. Rita’s approach is grounded in Child-Centered Play Therapy and Schema Therapy, integrating emotion-focused, systemic, and narrative perspectives to meet clients where they are and support authentic healing and growth.
Rita holds a Master’s in Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from UNAM. She has completed graduate coursework in counselling psychology at Yorkville University and continues to expand her training through specialized education in play therapy, schema therapy, narrative therapy, end-of-life care, and neurodivergent-affirming practices.
Originally from Mexico and now based in Nanaimo and Duncan, BC, Rita is bilingual (English/Spanish) and passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals, immigrants, and those navigating trauma, grief, and life transitions. Her clients often seek support when feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about the future.
Rita has completed all required practicum hours and is currently awaiting final RCC registration. She offers counselling services at her regular fee.
